Khairukum Ramadan Reading Circles
In the Khairukum online reading circles, participants read one juzz of the Quran every day in Ramadan under the supervision of a facilitator, to complete the Quran over the course of the month. During the one-hour time slot, every participant takes turns reading a portion of the juzz aloud while the rest of the people in the circle read to themselves (while muted). The cycle is repeated until the juzz is completed. These circles are free of charge, and all times listed are in EST. We ask that every registrant have a serious intention to commit to joining daily.
The objective of the program is to provide an encouraging and supportive space for completing a reading of the Quran during the month of Ramadan. Participants are expected to be able to read confidently from the “mus-haf”. Non-readers or beginning readers are welcome to join the circles as listeners.Â
Ayah by Ayah Memorization of Surah Al-Mulk
This on-site class is designed to introduce participants to the habit of memorization as a daily practice and to provide encouragement and support as they embark on this journey. Surah Al-Mulk is a special surah with many virtues in its memorization and daily recitation. Registrants must be able to read confidently from the “mus-haf” and commit to memorizing 1-2 ayahs per day.
The weekly in-person class will cover basic tafseer of the ayaat from the week, as well as reading practice and testing. The class is free of charge and will take place every Saturday of Ramadan (starting February 21) from 1:45 pm to 3:15 pm at Dar-us-Salaam at 5301 Edgewood Rd, College Park, MD 20740.
